Marvel’s Black Panther has been out for less than a week, but, it has already notched up quite a few impressive feats. However, nobody could have ever expected that the film will become #1 film of all time.
At least Rotten Tomatoes says so, as of now. Black Panther is currently perched at the #1 spot on its list of top 100 movies ever, and it also has climbed to the #1 spot in the list of top 100 action & adventure films.
If we check either of these lists, it is visible that despite Black Panther holding a massive 97% rating, some films below it have even better ratings, even 100% score in some cases. Yet, Black Panther reigns supreme, and that is courtesy how Rotten Tomatoes works out their Adjusted Score. The Adjusted Score is based on a particular formula which takes into consideration facts such as the number of reviews received by a film. That formula is behind Black Panther (97% rating and 306 reviews) overtaking a film like Inside Out (98% score and 331 reviews).
Black Panther is ahead of movies such as The Wizard of Oz, Get Out, Moonlight and The Godfather on the list of all-time movies, whereas it flattens out Mad Max: Fury Road, Dunkirk, and Logan in the list of action and adventure movies.
Black Panther has been a great success critically and on box office as well. The film has a stunning 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 77% audience score. Its box-office collection at the end of four days was $242 million domestically, and it has earned another $169 million, bringing its worldwide total to $412 million.
Black Panther is currently running in theaters. The next release for Marvel will be Avengers: Infinity War arriving on May 4 and the last MCU release for 2018 will be Ant-Man and The Wasp which is scheduled to release on July 6.
