Michael B. Jordan is having a great weekend. The latest movie, Black Panther, which features him as Erik Killmonger is now dominating the box office. And Sylvester Stallone has released the first poster for Creed 2. Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler had directed the very first Creed film which was a huge hit. There is a lot more to be excited about as Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago is returning along with Drago Jr. (Florian Munteanu).
It had been revealed that Romanian fighter, Florian Munteanu, aka “The Big Nasty,” would be playing Ivan Drago’s son in Creed 2. Sylvester Stallone had also released a poster for this film, and it features Munteanu’s Drago Jr. with Michael B. Jordan’s Creed with Dolph Lundgren and Stallone. The poster seems dark and has the caption, “It’s fight time.”
Steven Caple Jr. is now taking over and directing Creed 2 after it had been previously thought that Sylvester Stallone would helm this project. Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage) had also helped punch this script with Stallone. Production for this movie will start next month and has a release of date of November 21st, 2018.
In an interview, Michael B. Jordan had said that he thought that his career was over when he was just 14. Jordan was very excited to be cast on The Wire, and he was devastated when his character died after 12 episodes:
“(Creator) David Simon came over and said, Look, man, I love you. Everybody loves you. But we’ve got to kill you. I started crying. I thought my acting career was over. I told everyone that I might never work again.”
Black Panther is not the actor’s first foray into the comic book movies. He played the Human Torch in 2015’s Fantastic Four. Ryan Cooler and Michael B. Jordan had worked together on Fruitvale Station. Creed 2 will begin production after Jordan finishes his promotional campaign for Black Panther.
There may be a lot of training for the Creed sequel movie. While we all wait for the set images from Sylvester Stallone, you can check the poster for Creed 2 which featured the first look at Ivan Drago Jr.
